Control Resonant Switch Attack: Input and Fixes

What a Switch Attack is, the input that triggers it, the unlock it depends on and how to tell whether it actually fired.

Short answer

Hit your primary attack three times, then tap the secondary attack instead of the fourth press (Square, Square, Square, Triangle on PlayStation). The Aberrant morphs into your secondary form and ends the combo with its attack. It only works once that secondary form’s own Switch Attack skill is unlocked (GamerBlurb).

Input step by step

StepWhat to do
1–3Land three primary attacks in a row
4Tap the secondary attack (do not hold it)
ResultThe Aberrant becomes your secondary form and finishes the combo
InsteadA fourth primary press gives the normal combo finisher

Checklist if it does not trigger

  • Open the skill tree of the secondary form and confirm its Switch Attack skill is unlocked. Switch upgrades on the primary form do not unlock it.
  • Count exactly three primary hits; a missed or interrupted swing resets the string.
  • Tap, do not hold, the secondary button.
  • Test in a quiet area, so you can tell an input problem from an animation that just looks similar.
