Will Control Resonant Have DLC?

What Remedy has actually announced after launch, what has already shipped, why there is no Expansion Pass, and how that compares with Control and Alan Wake 2.

Short answer

No DLC or expansion has been announced as of October 12, 2026. Remedy’s post-launch roadmap lists three things: New Game++ (shipped in update 1.4.0 on October 1), Photo Mode (targeted for November) and more cosmetics for Dylan. Unlike Control and Alan Wake 2, Resonant has no Expansion Pass to buy, and Remedy has neither confirmed nor ruled out story DLC.

Remedy says Photo Mode was in development before launch but held back so the team could focus on the core game: “We’ve seen the comments – we hear you, you want it, and we want to get it into your hands” (Push Square). What 1.4.0 and the later hotfixes changed is in our patch notes.

Why there is no Expansion Pass

Remedy’s last two big games sold story DLC up front:

  • Control (2019): The Foundation and AWE, through the Expansion Pass.
  • Alan Wake 2 (2023): Night Springs and The Lake House, through the Expansion Pass. The Lake House is where Dylan reappears before this game.
  • Control Resonant (2026): no Expansion Pass, and no paid story content on any store.

Push Square points out that this leaves room for Resonant to be a one-and-done release, though Remedy has not said so. The ending leaves threads open, as our story explainer covers, but none of them has been tied to an announced expansion.

What the editions include

The Digital Deluxe Edition adds cosmetics such as the AWE Mission Outfit. It is not a season pass. The physical SteelBook Edition is the standard game in a metal case. If DLC is announced later, neither edition is promised to include it.

In the meantime there is a lot of optional content: 17 named side stories, World Feats and FBC Tasks (mission list), and New Game++ for repeat runs. A completionist run takes around 50 hours (how long to beat).
