GeForce Reward: the free Third Ice Baseball Cap
This is a different offer from the game bundle. NVIDIA’s GeForce Reward for CONTROL Resonant is a cosmetic, the Third Ice Baseball Cap, handed out through the NVIDIA app on a first-come, first-served basis. You do not need an RTX 50 card: the reward requires a GeForce GTX 10-series or newer GPU on Windows 10/11.
- Open the NVIDIA app and sign in.
- Go to Redeem (left menu, or under your profile) and find the CONTROL Resonant GeForce Reward.
- Click Redeem to generate your code.
- In the game: Main menu → Options → Gameplay, scroll to the bottom and choose Enter Redeem Code.
- The cap appears in Dylan’s wardrobe; it can be equipped after Act 1.
Is it still available? Codes were still being shared on the Steam forums on October 5, 2026, but stock is limited and NVIDIA can end the reward without notice — check the Redeem tab first. Players report the code works on the Steam and Epic versions; one Steam user said it was not available for the Xbox PC app, and another got an “invalid” message, so re-copy the code without spaces before giving up.

The cut-off is the RTX 5070. Anything below it in the RTX 50 line is excluded, however recently it was purchased.
Dates that matter
- Purchase window — August 25 to September 29, 2026.
- Redemption deadline — October 27, 2026.
- Age requirement — 16 and over.
- Accounts needed — an NVIDIA account and a Steam account.
Missing the October 27 redemption date forfeits the code even if the hardware was bought inside the purchase window, so redeem as soon as the card is installed.
The catch: not every seller participates
Buying an eligible GPU does not automatically produce a code. Availability depends on the retailer or system builder taking part in NVIDIA’s promotion, so a qualifying card from a non-participating seller comes with nothing.
Board partners such as MSI and ASUS ROG run their own campaign pages listing which of their models and which resellers are included. Confirm participation with the seller before buying if the game is part of your purchase decision.
How to redeem, step by step
- Install your qualifying graphics card.
- Install or update to the latest version of the NVIDIA app.
- Open the NVIDIA app and sign in.
- Go to REDEEM.
- Enter the bundle code supplied with your qualifying purchase.
- Follow the prompts to sign in with your Steam account.
- Select REDEEM to add Control Resonant to that Steam account.
The game lands on Steam specifically — there is no option to redeem it on the Epic Games Store or a console.
What you receive
The bundle grants the Standard Edition, worth $59.99. It does not include the Digital Deluxe extras such as the artbook, soundtrack or AWE Mission Outfit.
Pre-order bonuses tied to buying the game directly are also outside the bundle, so treat it as a free copy of the base game rather than a free upgrade path.
Common reasons a redemption fails
- The code was not issued because the seller is not part of the promotion.
- The redemption deadline of October 27, 2026 has passed.
- The NVIDIA app is out of date, so the REDEEM flow behaves unexpectedly.
- The account does not meet the age requirement of 16 and over.
- The card is an RTX 5060 Ti or below, which was never eligible.
Why this game, and why RTX 50
Control Resonant is a showcase for the rendering features NVIDIA markets on this generation. It supports ray tracing and path tracing, and Remedy’s own top spec tier calls for an RTX 5080 to run 4K at 60fps with path tracing enabled.
Bundles like this are aimed at that overlap: a technically demanding release paired with the hardware built to run it, which is why the eligibility floor sits at the RTX 5070 rather than lower in the stack.
What the free copy is worth
The Standard Edition sells for $59.99, so an eligible purchase effectively removes the game’s cost from your upgrade. The campaign runs roughly 30 hours, with completion closer to 50, and New Game Plus is included at launch.
Against the $69.99 Digital Deluxe, the bundle does not cover the artbook, soundtrack, Untapped Artifact, starter resource bundle or AWE Mission Outfit — those remain a paid upgrade.
Check participation before you buy
This is where most disappointment comes from. NVIDIA’s terms state that availability depends on participating retailers and system builders, so an eligible GPU from a non-participating seller arrives with no code at all.

The game is delivered to Steam specifically. There is no option to redeem the bundle on the Epic Games Store, on console, or as a DRM-free copy.
What you can run with an eligible card
Any GPU in the eligible range clears Remedy’s published tiers comfortably. The recommended 1440p/60 tier asks for an RTX 3060 Ti, and the 4K raster tier asks for an RTX 3080 — both well below an RTX 5070.
The one tier that specifically wants current hardware is 4K at 60fps with path tracing, which lists the RTX 5080. Remember that every published tier assumes upscaling is enabled and none used frame generation.
If you missed the window
The purchase window ran August 25 to September 29, 2026 with redemption open until October 27. Once those dates pass, there is no retroactive route — codes are issued at purchase by participating sellers.
The alternatives are ordinary: $59.99 on Steam or Epic, $69.99 for the Digital Deluxe, or $98.98 for The Siblings Collection with Control Ultimate Edition. There is no Game Pass release to wait for.
