Every Control Resonant pre-order includes the Hiss Corruption Outfit and the Pickpocket’s Tool Artifact. PlayStation pre-orders add the Occult Outfit, and buying on the Epic Games Store grants the Dylan Faden Outfit in Fortnite. There is no redeem-code system — the in-game items unlock at the end of Act 1.
Bonuses by platform
| Platform / store | Bonuses |
|---|---|
| PlayStation 5 | Hiss Corruption Outfit, Pickpocket’s Tool Artifact, Occult Outfit |
| Xbox Series X|S | Hiss Corruption Outfit, Pickpocket’s Tool Artifact |
| Steam | Hiss Corruption Outfit, Pickpocket’s Tool Artifact |
| Epic Games Store | The above plus the Dylan Faden Outfit in Fortnite |
The Occult Outfit is a PlayStation exclusive — it is not available on Xbox, Steam or Epic, regardless of edition.
When the items actually unlock
This is the most common source of confusion after launch. Control Resonant is a premium single-player game with no redeem-code system, so nothing needs to be entered anywhere — the bonuses attach to the account that bought the game.
They become available at the end of Act 1 rather than at the start. If your pre-order items are not in your inventory during the opening hours, that is expected behaviour, not a missing entitlement.
The Epic Fortnite crossover
Buying or pre-purchasing Control Resonant on the Epic Games Store grants the Dylan Faden Outfit in Fortnite, distributed from August 26, 2026. You must buy using the Epic account linked to your Fortnite profile.
The outfit is also sold separately in the Fortnite shop for 1,500 V-Bucks, so the crossover is worth roughly that much if you play Fortnite and nothing if you do not.
Free extras from the Remedy newsletter
Signing up for Remedy’s CONTROL newsletter grants two additional in-game items for use at launch: the Communications Department Headset and the Optical Filtering Goggles.
These are not tied to any edition or storefront, so they stack with whatever pre-order bonuses your platform already provides.
Editions versus bonuses
Pre-order bonuses are independent of edition. Both the $59.99 Standard and the $69.99 Digital Deluxe receive them, so paying more is not what earns the outfits.
What Deluxe adds on top is its own package — the artbook, soundtrack, Untapped Artifact, starter resource bundle and AWE Mission Outfit, plus PS5-only early access from September 22.
Physical pre-orders: check first
The SteelBook Edition’s published contents list does not itemise the standard pre-order bonuses. Confirm with your retailer before assuming a disc pre-order carries the same digital rewards.
We do not publish redeem codes for this game, because none exist. Any site offering Control Resonant codes is not describing a system Remedy has shipped.
What each item is
- Hiss Corruption Outfit — a cosmetic outfit, granted on every platform.
- Pickpocket’s Tool Artifact — an artifact, part of the passive progression layer alongside talents.
- Occult Outfit — a second cosmetic outfit, PlayStation pre-orders only.
- Dylan Faden Outfit (Fortnite) — an outside-the-game cosmetic, granted for buying on the Epic Games Store.
None of these gate content or change the campaign. Artifacts in particular can be swapped freely, since talents and artifacts respec at no cost.
Why there are no codes
Control Resonant is a premium single-player game rather than a live-service one, so it ships without a code-redemption system. Entitlements attach to the account that bought the game, and the game grants them during play.
That is also why no legitimate site can offer Control Resonant codes. If you see one, it is describing a system Remedy has not built.
Which storefront gives the most
On raw content, the Epic Games Store edges it for anyone who also plays Fortnite: the same in-game bonuses plus the Dylan Faden Outfit, worth 1,500 V-Bucks when sold separately. Pricing is identical to Steam at $59.99 and $69.99.
PlayStation gives the most inside Control Resonant itself, thanks to the exclusive Occult Outfit, and it is the only platform where the Deluxe Edition also grants early access from September 22.
Troubleshooting missing bonuses
- Finish Act 1 first — the items unlock there, not at the start.
- Check you are signed into the account that made the purchase.
- For the Fortnite outfit, confirm the Epic account used to buy is the one linked to your Fortnite profile.
- For physical pre-orders, confirm with the retailer whether the bonuses were included at all.
Remedy’s newsletter items — the Communications Department Headset and Optical Filtering Goggles — are separate from all of this and require a newsletter sign-up rather than a purchase.
Free items beyond pre-ordering
Signing up for Remedy’s CONTROL newsletter grants the Communications Department Headset and the Optical Filtering Goggles for use at launch. These are not tied to a storefront or an edition, so they stack with whatever your platform already gives you.
It is the only route to in-game items that does not require buying a specific edition or shopping at a specific store.
Summary
| Bonus | How to get it |
|---|---|
| Hiss Corruption Outfit | Pre-order on any platform |
| Pickpocket’s Tool Artifact | Pre-order on any platform |
| Occult Outfit | Pre-order on PlayStation |
| Dylan Faden Outfit (Fortnite) | Buy on the Epic Games Store with your Fortnite-linked account |
| Comms Headset + Optical Goggles | Sign up for the Remedy CONTROL newsletter |
All in-game items unlock at the end of Act 1, and none of them require a code.
Do bonuses apply to physical pre-orders?
Check before assuming. The SteelBook Edition’s published contents list covers the case, prints, poster and slipcase but does not itemise the standard digital pre-order rewards.
Physical editions also ship on October 15, three weeks after the digital launch, so even a qualifying disc pre-order delivers its bonuses well after digital buyers have them.
Are pre-order bonuses a reason to pre-order?
Honestly, not on their own. Two cosmetics and an artifact do not change a roughly 30-hour campaign, and artifacts can be swapped freely because the progression system respecs at no cost.
The stronger reasons to commit early are practical: securing a limited SteelBook run, or buying the PS5 Digital Deluxe if you want the September 22 early access window.
Timing note
Pre-order windows close at launch. After September 24 the bonuses listed here are tied to whatever each storefront chooses to keep offering, and the Epic Fortnite promotion ran from August 26, 2026 with the outfit later sold separately for 1,500 V-Bucks.
