Control Resonant Point of No Return: A Spoiler-Light Checklist

Before you follow the next story objective, check what can wait, what needs care and how to keep your current progress safe. No ending or final boss spoilers.

Short answer

The ending does not permanently lock you out of Manhattan cleanup. PowerPyx reports post-story free roam. Players discussing the late-game return to the Oldest House also report continued exploration afterward. A temporary linear sequence is different from losing access to side content forever.

Before you continue

Our suggested checklist keeps the focus on your goals rather than the ending:

  • Chasing trophies? Review The Party Won’t Stop before choosing karaoke lyrics. PowerPyx flags its save-every-guest trophy as semi-missable.
  • Want to avoid story spoilers? Use the zone links below rather than an ending walkthrough.
  • Planning to load an older quest save? Preserve your current profile first; check the backup in the title screen before replaying.

Player reports describe returning to exploration after story sequences. We have not independently tested every checkpoint, so this page does not promise that every sequence can be interrupted immediately.

What can wait until after the story

PowerPyx recommends completing the campaign and then cleaning up side quests and collectibles. Choose the unfinished activity in your own save:

ActivityGuide
Taxi ThresholdsTaxi locations and puzzle routes
Dog toysZone checklist and final visit
Freeze FrameCamera route and photos
Side stories and trophiesPlatinum cleanup roadmap

Our suggestion: finish one collectible chain at a time and record your last completed zone. That makes returning to an unfinished route easier.

Saves and replaying a missed choice

PowerPyx reports autosaves rather than conventional manual saves, permanent saves after main quests, and profile duplication from the title screen. Its karaoke recovery advice is to load a suitable earlier save. Our precaution is to keep your current profile backup separate before trying this.

Do not assume that a replayed save will merge its progress with your current run. For quest ordering, see the mission list, which includes story names and may reveal more than this page.

Point of no return FAQ

Does Control Resonant have a point of no return? PowerPyx reports free roam after the story. Players also report being able to continue exploring after the final boss; a linear story sequence does not mean permanent loss of side content.

What should I check before finishing the story? Check The Party Won’t Stop if you want its karaoke trophy, and back up your profile before replaying older quest saves. You can plan most collectible cleanup for post-game free roam.
