Control Resonant Main Character: Who Is Dylan Faden?

The protagonist of Control Resonant, how he links to the first game, the weapon he fights with, who guides him over the radio and where Jesse fits.

Short answer

The main character is Dylan Faden, Jesse Faden’s younger brother. Destructoid describes him as 34: taken by the FBC at 10 after the Ordinary, Maine event, held for 17 years, then woken from a seven-year coma just as Jesse disappears. Jesse is not playable (GamingBolt). Sean Durrie voices Dylan.

Why it isn’t Jesse

Control (2019) followed Jesse into the Oldest House to find Dylan, whom Dr. Casper Darling’s team had experimented on. Resonant flips it: Dylan wakes as Jesse vanishes, and the search runs the other way. Where she went is the core of the plot — our story explainer and ending explained cover it behind spoiler warnings.

If you skipped the first game, see whether to play Control first.

Who else matters

  • Zoe De Vera (Frankie Kevich): new FBC agent and Dylan’s handler for most of the game.
  • Jesse Faden (Courtney Hope): absent for much of the story, but central to it.
  • Frederick Langston, Casper Darling and Emily Pope return from Control. Full list in our voice cast page.
